How to Backup/Export the Connected Database Database.SQL File in Laravel

Database Backup From Laravel Application

(Laravel Backup) by Spatie.

this package provides you with a command (php artisan backup:run
). which is not exactly what you need.

But you can create a button in your admin section with a link to a route. and from there (either from the route or controller) you can call this command by

Artisan::call('backup:run');

which will trigger a backup.

How to take backup of partial data in Laravel?

If this is an server admin only operation, you may use iseed to generate seeding files from your existing data in database. The restoration would be easy through Laravel's database seeding.

If this is a user operation, then you would probably need to program your own import / export feature. You may use a combination of fopen('php://output') with fputcsv for the database to csv export. Then you may reference some available tutorials to write the csv to database import with Eloquent.

Backup .sql from laravel

You can use db-dumper package to backup your database.

Installing:

composer require spatie/db-dumper

Usage:

Spatie\DbDumper\Databases\MySql::create()
->setDbName($databaseName)
->setUserName($userName)
->setPassword($password)
->dumpToFile('dump.sql');
