How to delete an app from iTunesConnect / App Store Connect
Here's the answer to my question I got back from Apple support.
Hi XXX,
I am following up with you about the deletion of your app, “XXX”. Recent changes have been made to the App Delete feature. In order to delete your app from iTunes Connect, you must now have one approved version before the delete button becomes available. For more information on the recent changes, please see the "Deleting an App" section of the iTunes Connect Guide (page 96-97):
You can only delete an app from the App Store if it was previously approved (meaning has one approved version).
From iTunes Connect Developer Guide - Transferring and Deleting Apps:
Apps that have not been approved yet can’t be deleted; instead, reject the app.
As of 2016, new changes have been made to iTunes Connect. Here are the screenshots of deleting an approved app from your account.
How to remove automatically created macOS app from App Store Connect
I think there is a bug in App Store Connect as I added both macOS and tvOS versions to my app. After selecting General, App Information I can hover over either macOS or tvOS version and a red delete sign appears and if I delete one it then won't let me delete the second. I've added an image below showing the red delete button.
Mouse hovering over macOS version
how to delete app from app store
You go to iTunes Connect, select manage applications, select the app you want to delete > rights and pricing> deselect all app stores.
This will set your app to 'developer removed from sale'.
I believe you can delete the app entirely after this, and the 'delete app' button should now be added to the first screen after you select the app. If you do delete the app, you will never be able to use the app name again. If you plan on using it, just 'developer removed from sale'.
