How to Delete App Build in New Itunes Connect Site

How to delete app Build in New iTunes Connect Site?

You can't delete old uploaded build: you have to upload new build with a new build version (== Bundle version in plist).

For example, if your current build version is 1.3, archive & upload a new build with an incremented build version like 1.3.1:

How to remove a build from itunes connect?

UPDATE:

Time has changed, you can now remove (expire) TestFlight Builds as in this answer but you still cannot delete the build.

OLD:

I asked apple and here is their answer:

I understand you would like to remove a build from iTunes Connect as
shown in your screenshot.

Please be advised this is expected behavior as you can remove a build
from being the current build but you cannot delete it from iTunes
Connect. For more information, please refer to the iTunes Connect
Developer Guide:
https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/LanguagesUtilities/Conceptual/iTunesConnect_Guide/

So i just can't.

How to delete an app from iTunesConnect / App Store Connect

Here's the answer to my question I got back from Apple support.

Hi XXX,

I am following up with you about the deletion of your app, “XXX”. Recent changes have been made to the App Delete feature. In order to delete your app from iTunes Connect, you must now have one approved version before the delete button becomes available. For more information on the recent changes, please see the "Deleting an App" section of the iTunes Connect Guide (page 96-97):

You can only delete an app from the App Store if it was previously approved (meaning has one approved version).

From iTunes Connect Developer Guide - Transferring and Deleting Apps:

Apps that have not been approved yet can’t be deleted; instead, reject the app.

As of 2016, new changes have been made to iTunes Connect. Here are the screenshots of deleting an approved app from your account.

How to Delete App from itunes connect, which is in Prepare For Submission Phase

Apple says

Apps that have not been approved yet can’t be deleted; instead, reject
the app. Apps must have at least one approved version before they can
be deleted.

One solution is to rename that application and then use the name by creating a new one. Apple accepts the name and the app will then be in review. Ref: How to delete an app which is waiting for upload?

Delete App from iTunes Connect

Refer this Apple document: Deleting an App

You can delete your app if there is at least one approved version of the app and the latest version status is one of the following:

  • Prepare for Submission
  • Invalid Binary
  • Developer Rejected
  • Rejected
  • Metadata Rejected
  • Developer Removed From Sale
  • Removed from Sale

If your application status different (other) than above list, refer this Apple document: Viewing and Changing Your App’s Status and Availability

First, change your application status according to this tutorial and then delete app from store.

Delete new version of app in iTunes connect

You don't have to worry, Prepare to Upload status means the itunes is asking you to tell that you are ready to upload binary and click the button Ready to Upload Binary.. Your build must be rejected by someone, or you haven't yet uploaded any.

If you want to upload a new build you have to click Ready to Upload Binary, then the status will turn into Waiting for Upload, then if you upload the binary successfully it will turn into Upload Received, then it goes into Waiting for Review, next come In Review, then your status might be Rejected, or Ready For Sale, or Approved(It needs to be released manually)..

I hope above clears your doubt..

Update -

The process has been changed a lot, though You can't delete a Binary, you need to upload new binary by changing the build number if you don't want to change the Version number of the build. For the process of upload, we don't have option to make it Ready to Upload anymore.. You follow the following steps..

  1. Upload a Binary of a specific version from XCode.
  2. Check Activity Tab in itunesconnect of your app, it should show the uploaded binary in processing mode, it will get processed in sometime.
  3. Click on your App Version which might be in Prepare to Submit state, go inside and add your recently uploaded and processed build and click on Save.
  4. Then Submit for Review

Cheers.
