How to Fix: "Hax Is Not Working and Emulator Runs in Emulation Mode"

How to fix: HAX is not working and emulator runs in emulation mode

Yes it should be fixed, HAXM isn't working.
How much RAM is set for use inside your AVD configuration ?

768M is a good number for it, but most importantly this number has to be lower or equal to the memory usage you have set during the installation of HAXM. You can launch its installation again to modify it.

HAXM is not working and emulator runs in emulation mode

you need to install haxm installer from SDK manager

for that go to TOOLS > android >sdk manager >standalone SDK manager
then install packages

Mac HAX is not working and emulator runs in emulation mode

Amount of memory when you installed HAXM and amount of memory of your emulator device? If you set 1 gb ram when you installed HAXM and your device has 1536 for example, haxm cant works.

Emulators stopped working, HAXM installed, says it's not

Long story short, here's what I did, a variation of some other issues found online:

  • Close android studio and for safety sake, deleted images/SDK components from android in the AVD manager and SDK manager
  • go to regedit and delete any references to HAXM that you can find (after backup of course)
  • restart machine
  • install HAXM from Intel's site
  • restart machine
  • Go to add/remove programs and remove HAXM
  • restart machine
  • Go to Android studio, install images, install HAXM

It seemed to work then.

intel x86 emulator accelerator ( HAXM ) not compatible with window

After research I solved it.

should disable Hyper-V on windows 10 ( HAXM want to work exclusively.. ) if it already enabled (example for Dockers )

And I found that can download HAXM from here

: right click on Start/Program and Futures/Turn Window features on of off/Hyper-V

android emulation error (haxm installed)

I finally found the solution guys, so I'm posting it for any newbie who's still searching for it.

Windows 10 enforces driver signatures by default. This actually is preventing the emulator accelerator from being installed properly. To solve this issue use the following steps to disable driver signature enforcement.

  1. Click the Start Start menu and select Settings.
  2. Click Update and Security.
  3. Click on Recovery.
  4. Click Restart now under Advanced Startup.
  5. Click Troubleshoot.
  6. Click Advanced options.
  7. Click Startup Settings.
  8. Click on Restart.
  9. On the Startup Settings screen press 7 or F7 to disable driver signature enforcement.

Your computer will restart and you will be able to install non-digitally signed drivers. All you need to do now is to re-install(or update) intel x86 Emulator accelerator (HAXM installer) and enjoy !

If you restart your computer again the driver signature enforcement will be re-enabled.
