Is there a way in Java to convert an integer to its ordinal name?
If you're OK with 1st
, 2nd
, 3rd
etc, here's some simple code that will correctly handle any integer:

Convert ordinal number to string
You can use this class I wrote. Just download the file (license header included) to your project, update the package declaration, and you can use it like this.

which outputs
twelve thousand and forty-eight

The second argument to toWords
, if specified, determines whether to output ordinals (true) or regular numerals (false). You can take a look at it to see how it works.
Convert from enum ordinal to enum type
To convert an ordinal into its enum representation you might want to do this:
ReportTypeEnum value = ReportTypeEnum.values()[ordinal];
Please notice the array bounds.
Note that every call to values()
returns a newly cloned array which might impact performance in a negative way. You may want to cache the array if it's going to be called often.

How to convert number to words in java
Here is the code, I don't think there is any method in SE.
It basically converts number to string and parses String and associates it with the weight
for example
1000
1
is treated as thousand position and 1
gets mapped to "one"
and thousand because of position

For Oracle

'JSP' means :
J : the Julian format.
SP : spells the word for the number passed to to_date
Ordinals java - Java I class
In my opinion it would be better to move Scanner
to main:
