Eclipse reports rendering library more recent than ADT plug-in
- Click Help > Install New Software.
- In the Work with field, enter:
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
- Select Developer Tools / Android Development Tools.
- Click Next and complete the wizard.
How can I fix this version of the rendering library is more recent than your version of ADT plug-in in eclipse?
Go to Help >> Install new software and add install https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ then select Developer Tools and click on next to begin install
or
Change the API version in XML.
This version of the rendering library is more recent than your version of ADT plug-in. Please update ADT plug-in - already updated

How to solve error This version of the rendering library is more recent than your version of ADT plug-in. Please update ADT plug-in in Eclipse Mars?
Eclipse Mars will work fine with Android Marshmallow on ADT 23.0.7 (the last released version as far as I know). Check out this page to find the released ADT versions available for download.
Please note that the layout engine will not work right, so you also need to download a Lollipop SDK so you can use it's layout engine with Marshmallow's build tools.
I can only expect development with Eclipse to get harder in the future. But for now, this should keep you going.
I don't know if API 24 or newer work properly with the SDK. You can check out this link for someone's private project based on an ADT beta release that claims to work with Android N:

Update your DDMS and ADT to latest version form Help>Check For Updates. this solved my problem!
How can I update my ADT plug-in?
Follow these steps,
- Go to eclipse
- Select Help Menu
- Select Check for Install new updates
- A dialog box like below will appear
- Write the url and it will load the available updates
- Select the option , click on next.
- Done
If this doesnt work then following steps,
- Open your Android SDK Manager like below,
- Select both the options "Android SDK Tools" & "Android Platform-tools" and updated them.
