Can't update Android Studio - only download
That means that the current version can not be automatically updated. You should download the new version manually.
Can't update Android Studio 4.1.2 to Android Studio 2020.3.1 arctic fox
I solved this problem by simply downloading the newest version from the Android Studio website and running the full installer rather than trying to use the patch.
You can keep your settings and have it remove the previous version, so the result is the same in the end as if you'd just done the patch upgrade.
My android studio is not updating from 3.5 to 3.6 version
You can download the newest in the website (not from inside Android Studio) from your browser and install it.
You can choose :
a.) to uninstall the old version first before installing the new version
b.) or just installing the new one that automatically detects the old one and asks u to remove the old version and then it will install the new version.. then u just have to follow the instruction...
I actually encountered this problem yesterday, by update it from inside the Android Studio, and then I tried to manually download it from the website using my browser and it worked.
can't update Android Studio to latest version
You don't need to delete your Android Studio, just go:
Help -> Check for update
, then it will show that "To configure automatic update settings, see theUpdates
dialog of your IDE Settings".Click the Updates and switch the channel( I even go to the
Canary Channel
and get leastAndroid Studio 1.0 RC2
)
Can't update Android Studio - no Update and Restart button
I have found a temporary solution for this problem (until they release a fix for it).
- When Android Studio opens and the update popup shows up without the button, close it with the X button.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+A to open action search dialog, enter Event Log and open it.
- There will be a message telling that Android Studio is ready to update and the word update is a link that will open a window with an Update and restart button.
Android Studio Doesn't Update Automatically
I'm pretty sure I ran in to this as well when I updated to 2.0.
Perhaps because it's a significant major release and update, it can't be installed as a patch to the current version you have (or because your current version is too old), though I'm not sure why it's redirecting you to the Canary channel.
Do a fresh install of Android Studio 2.0, import your settings from your already installed version, and delete the old version.
