How to add buttons at top of map fragment API v2 layout
Maybe a simpler solution is to set an overlay in front of your map using FrameLayout
or RelativeLayout
and treating them as regular buttons in your activity. You should declare your layers in back to front order, e.g., map before buttons. I modified your layout, simplified it a little bit. Try the following layout and see if it works for you:
<FrameLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context=".MapActivity" >
<fragment xmlns:map="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="@+id/map"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:scrollbars="vertical"
class="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment"/>
<RadioGroup
android:id="@+id/radio_group_list_selector"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="48dp"
android:orientation="horizontal"
android:background="#80000000"
android:padding="4dp" >
<RadioButton
android:id="@+id/radioPopular"
android:layout_width="0dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:text="@string/Popular"
android:gravity="center_horizontal|center_vertical"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:background="@drawable/shape_radiobutton"
android:textColor="@color/textcolor_radiobutton" />
<View
android:id="@+id/VerticalLine"
android:layout_width="1dip"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#aaa" />
<RadioButton
android:id="@+id/radioAZ"
android:layout_width="0dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:gravity="center_horizontal|center_vertical"
android:text="@string/AZ"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:background="@drawable/shape_radiobutton2"
android:textColor="@color/textcolor_radiobutton" />
<View
android:id="@+id/VerticalLine"
android:layout_width="1dip"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#aaa" />
<RadioButton
android:id="@+id/radioCategory"
android:layout_width="0dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:gravity="center_horizontal|center_vertical"
android:text="@string/Category"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:background="@drawable/shape_radiobutton2"
android:textColor="@color/textcolor_radiobutton" />
<View
android:id="@+id/VerticalLine"
android:layout_width="1dip"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#aaa" />
<RadioButton
android:id="@+id/radioNearBy"
android:layout_width="0dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:gravity="center_horizontal|center_vertical"
android:text="@string/NearBy"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:background="@drawable/shape_radiobutton3"
android:textColor="@color/textcolor_radiobutton" />
</RadioGroup>
</FrameLayout>
How to add a button and overlay it on my Google map fragment
Here is example with constraint layout
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.constraint.ConstraintLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
tools:context=".MapsActivity">
<fragment
android:id="@+id/map"
android:name="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_constraintStart_toStartOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintLeft_toLeftOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintRight_toRightOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintEnd_toEndOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintTop_toTopOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintBottom_toBottomOf="parent"
/>
<Button
android:layout_width="0dp"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="Button"
app:layout_constraintBottom_toBottomOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintLeft_toLeftOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintStart_toStartOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintRight_toRightOf="parent"
app:layout_constraintEnd_toEndOf="parent"
android:layout_margin="16dp"
/>
</android.support.constraint.ConstraintLayout>
Floating action button on top of map fragment
You can use FrameLayout to acieve what you want.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<ScrollView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fillViewport="true">
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:weightSum="1">
<android.support.v7.widget.CardView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_marginTop="@dimen/margin_small">
<fragment
android:id="@+id/autocomplete_fragment"
android:name="com.google.android.gms.location.places.ui.PlaceAutocompleteFragment"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"/>
</android.support.v7.widget.CardView>
<FrameLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<fragment
android:id="@+id/map"
android:name="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context="reminder.locrem.com.locationreminder.MapsActivity" />
<android.support.design.widget.FloatingActionButton
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="top|right"
android:layout_margin="16dp"
android:src="@drawable/done"
app:elevation="4dp"
app:layout_anchorGravity="bottom|right|end" />
</FrameLayout>
</LinearLayout>
</ScrollView>
Place button on top right of google maps API
The location where you want to place the icon is in the action bar. To place menu items there, refer the menu docs
For the menu, try :
<menu xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto">
<item
android:id="@+id/action_button"
android:icon="@drawable/buttonIcon"
app:showAsAction="always"
android:title="Button title" />
</menu>
Add custom button to MapFragment with the same style of Maps app
This is my current approximation of a button for the google map api v2. It's all in the XML. I'm happy to share this technique.
<fragment
android:id="@+id/map"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
class="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment" />
<Button
android:id="@+id/btnFollow"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"
android:layout_marginBottom="34dp"
android:background="@drawable/mapbutton"
android:padding="14dp"
android:text="@string/btnFollowText"
android:textColor="@color/black" />
/drawable/mapbutton
<shape xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:shape="rectangle" >
<corners android:radius="2dp" />
<stroke
android:width="1dp"
android:color="#CC444444" />
<solid android:color="#88FFFFFF" />
</shape>
/color/black
<color name="black">#000000</color>
Tailor it for your app.
Adding buttons to Google Map in android
Try this:
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context=".MainActivity" >
<fragment
android:id="@+id/map"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
class="com.google.android.gms.maps.MapFragment" />
<Button
android:id="@+id/setRangeButton"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="@string/setRange" />
</RelativeLayout>
adding button on default google map activity
use this layout .this can solve your problem.(for first requirement)
this will make the map fragment occupy all the screen first and then the button will be on the top right corner of the screen. as the map is all over the screen the button will be over the map and some part of map will be covered.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:orientation="vertical">
<fragment
android:id="@+id/location_map"
class="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment"
android:layout_alignParentTop="true"
android:layout_alignParentStart="true"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" />
<Button
android:id="@+id/button1"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="#359c5e"
android:layout_alignParentTop="true"
android:layout_alignParentEnd="true"
android:padding="8dp"
android:layout_margin="5dp"
android:text="@string/go"
android:textColor="#ffffff" />
</RelativeLayout>
for second requirement
you can use a onclicklistener for the button and display those markers on the map.
let me know how it worked for you.
